Your Bespoke Travel Itinerary Service

I’m guessing you’re here because you’re interested in a bespoke travel itinerary or bespoke itinerary service to help you plan your travels.

Regardless of whether you decide to work with me or not, I want to give you an idea of the pros and cons of a custom travel itinerary service when it comes to planning your travels.

The first thing to emphasise is that this is NOT a travel agent service.

Many people use travel agents and using a travel agent is of course personal preference. However, my concern with booking through a travel agent is the same as my concern about using a lot of third party booking websites: if something goes wrong, the hotel, the airline, the car rental agency etc cannot help you directly - they will all refer you back to the travel agent you booked through.

This is no problem in theory, but with the rise in travel businesses struggling post-2020, the rising business running costs, the rise in questionable MLMs or lack of visibility with third party companies, it can put your travel booking in a precarious position should something go wrong and you need to cancel, rebook or refund.

I experienced this myself when my family came to visit me in Australia in March 2020. As the world started to shut down, airlines were cancelling flights as borders closed and unfortunately my brother had booked through a third party airline comparison site. The airline refused to help him with his booking because he had not booked directly through them but he was unable to get through to the company he had booked through - he was on hold for hours and he never got a refund. He had to pay for a new flight and we’ve since learnt that the comparison website is notorious for not assisting with cancellation or rebooking requests.

So how does a bespoke travel itinerary service work?

The aim of my bespoke itinerary service is to take the stress out of travel planning by building a custom travel itinerary for you based on your responses to my questionnaire.

I then create an itinerary, giving you all the details, prices, timings and links to the activities or bookings in your custom itinerary BUT the key part is that you can book those yourself.

I will provide you with a step-by-step for your trip and everything you need to book your trip, but the control over bookings, reservations and what price you ultimately choose to pay stays with you.

This means you’re not relying on a travel agent or third party provider. Instead you retain total control over your travel itinerary.

In fact, you can even shift around the order or change the options I provide for you - it’s YOUR trip, YOU should feel in complete control.

**So then what does a custom travel itinerary actually do?**

Bottom line: I’m here to take the stressful research and planning part out of your trip.

Many people put off ever booking travel because they just don’t want to deal with the planning part. That could be for a number of reasons:

Too busy and not enough time to dedicate
Feeling overwhelmed by the amount of choices and options to choose from
Not knowing the pest places to look for information
Feeling conflicted by the varying opinions on dominant sites like TripAdvisor and getting analysis paralysis
Wanting to go beyond the “top attractions” at a destination but not knowing what else you exactly want to do
Feeling overwhelmed by the logistics of planning timings, particularly when travelling with larger travel groups

There’s numerous reasons and my aim is to take that time-consuming part of travel planning away from you.

A bespoke itinerary for your trip can really cost as much or as little as you want!

I charge a flat fee to build any 5-10 day travel itinerary.

For a shorter trip (like a weekend itinerary) or a longer trip (like 1 month backpacking) please contact me here for a quote.

However, that doesn’t mean I’m going to build you a custom travel itinerary that costs the earth!

In your questionnaire I’ll ask you about your travel style: budget, mid-range or luxury. I’ll ask you if you prefer guided tours or exploring at your own pace. I’ll find out if you prefer to find free activities or if you're happy to pay admissions and fees. I’ll also find out if you’re a foodie and prefer to eat out, or if you’d prefer not to spend your budget on food - in which case I’ll give you budget food, supermarket or food on-the-go recommendations.

Let me breakdown how it works:

You purchase the bespoke itinerary package and complete the mandatory question (the more detail the better)
I will receive your questionnaire and require 10 working days to build your bespoke travel itinerary
You will receive a multi-page PDFwhich contains your bespoke itinerary and custom vacation guide.
In the guide will be an hour-by-hour breakdown of your itinerary, details about the activity or location as well as a link to book if applicable (some of these links may be affiliate links which means I get a small commission when you make a purchase at no additional cost to you)
Your bespoke travel planner will also include any relevant tips or recommendations.
You can take your PDF travel itinerary with you on your trip to follow the itinerary and keep you and your group on track

Hopefully that won’t happen if you’ve completed the discovery questionnaire in as much detail as you can - the more information you give, the easier it is for me to create a custom itinerary that you’ll love!

However due to the time it takes me to prepare a bespoke travel itinerary, and due to the service being completely bespoke (and therefore unique!) I’m unable to offer refunds.
